‘Masquerade’ is the new release from Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra. Led by composer Kate Simko, the orchestral-electronic ensemble blends her classical background with Chicago house and electronic music. This track, however, isn’t centred on their beat-driven sound, and instead allows a beautifully produced blend of harp and strings to accompany dancers from The Royal Ballet in the atmospheric music video. Simko describes the track as “a modern-day waltz with an electronic twist. The song is about the masks we wear - from social media to our personas - and letting go and being confident with our genuine selves.” Keep an eye out for more from this cutting-edge ensemble. -Dan Peeke
